This futuristic camera/scanner was for a show pilot. It was a tight turnaround, the main build happening in about 10 days with some major changes in design. At only 5/8” thick it needed to stand on its own reliably, a tricky task. So to help counter the top weight of the lenses we made multiple cavities inside at the base and filled them with a ballast of metal bbs and epoxy. Worked like a charm!
